What we do
As the name implies, 3rd and Sherman Allergy specializes in taking care of people with allergies. We define an allergy as an unusual sensitivity to a substance, which most people tolerate and which is generally considered harmless.
The substance causing the allergic reaction is called an allergen. Allergens can include certain foods, chemicals, additives, and drugs. Sometimes allergens come in contact with our skin, such as plants or clothing. Insect stings expose us to venom, which can cause very severe allergic reactions in some people. Allergens in the air we breathe include pollens, dust, and molds. They can affect our eyes, nose, and lungs and can cause allergic reactions. Some of the common reactions to allergens are hay fever, asthma, and hives. You may also experience headaches, fatigue, irritability, and other unpleasant symptoms.
